Agricultural research
The MX-20 is particularly well-suited for agricultural inspection. Applications include:
- Grain and seed inspection for viability, infestation, damage or contamination
- Wood rings to evaluate seasonal growth characteristics
- Tree bark to inspect for insect infestation
Although available in both film and digital versions, digital systems afford increased throughput. The small focal spot x-ray tube and cabinet design enable up to 5X geometric magnification which is necessary for detailed inspection. If even further magnification or higher kV is required for more dense specimens, the LX-60 is available.
Irradiation Systems. If your work involves seed irradiation, the Faxitron RX-650 or CP-160 is an exceptional alternative to heavy, expensive, high maintenance, and potentially dangerous radioisotope irradiators.
